In Brussels, Sam advised MEPs from five countries on health, environment and regional policy as an adviser in the European institutions. Then back in London he helped renegotiate the Northern Ireland Protocol at DExEU, helped head engagement with the EU’s 27 member states during the trade negotiation at the FCDO, and delivered the Cabinet Office’s highest-priority projects in its Priority Projects Unit. In 2022 he founded ForgeFront, which grew to become one of the UK’s most influential futures consultancies.

Sam is an accredited member of the Association of Professional Futurists (APF) and a member of the Global Future Society. He has contributed methodologies to The Millennium Project’s Futures Research Methodology, a standard text for the foresight industry, judges the Next Generation Foresight Practitioners Fellowship and has written for the New Lines Institute.
